(Sarzameen News)- Parents should teach their children the rights of the Holy Quran and facilitate them in its implementation in everyday life. This was stated by Br Mian Abdul Hamid who was the chief guest at Bazm E Shaheen Qirat competition held in Riyadh at a local restaurant. More than 150 children from different schools participated in the event in Juniors, Seniors and Huffaz categories. The event was chaired by Dr. Asif Qureshi who has been associated with King Saud University for more than 40 years and retired as a Professor.
The event was moderated by Br Syed Atif who invited Qari Abdul Wahid for the recitation of the Holy Quran which was followed by Naat by Br Imran Elahi. The organizer of the event, Br Yusuf Siddiqui, welcomed the guests and briefed the audience about the activities of Bazm-e-Shaheen. The Qirat competition started with Juniors category where the students from grades 1-6 were invited for the recitation. The students mesmerized the audience by their Qirat and received appreciation from them. This was followed by Quiz competition which was prepared and conducted by Br Sohail Naseeruddin. The questions pertained to general knowledge of Quran and the responders were handed over gifts on spot. The Qirat competition for Seniors and Huffaz resumed after the quiz, and the high standards of Tajweed and Tartil was warmly welcomed by the audience. The judges bench included Qari Shafee, Qari Muhammad Abdulwahab Bin Nayyar and Qari Abdul Wahid and they were supported by Br Zafar Jameel and Br Muhammad Ashraf who painstakingly judged the competitors and admitted that the high standards of the participants made the judgement task quite tough. The President of Bazm E Shaheen, Br Wasil Hussain Syed admired the participants and urged parents to get their children involved in Bazm E Shaheen activities.
Dr. Asif Qureshi highlighted the importance of setting the priorities right during the upbringing of children. Before selecting the careers for children, he advised the parents to strengthen their Islamic base and teach them the human values. The winning shields were distributed among the winners of the competition by Br Mian Abdul Hamid and Dr. Asif Qureshi. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd place was secured by Muhammad Omar, Rayan Shahid and Arsalan Tanveer in Juniors category; Hammad Najeeb, Ahmad Azam and Muhammad Faiz Ur Rahman in Seniors category; Abdur Rahman Siddiqui, Abdus Salam Bin Omar and Muhammad Ahmad in Huffaz category respectively. Prizes were also distributed among the winners of monthly Online Saathi Quiz which was topped by Faizan while Haseeb Ahmed and Mujeeb Ahmed got 2nd and 3rd position respectively. Parents regarded Bazm E Shaheen team for organizing the event and showed the interest for future events.
