LAHORE (Sarzameen News)- Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab Hassan Askari on Wednesday dismissed Punjab Advocate General Asma Hamid from the post she was appointed on March 29, by former CM Shahbaz Sharif.
Additional advocate general Muhammad Shan Gull has been given the additional charge of the Punjab post – advocate general as a replacement of Asma Hamid.
It is pertinent to remember that caretaker Cabinet had already expressed reservations over Asma’s appointment as advocate general Punjab.
Following the directions of caretaker CM Punjab Hassan Askari, Hamid has been removed from the post however, she will hold the responsibilities for the post of additional advocate general Punjab.
Earlier, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had opposed Hamid’s appointment saying her family was being rewarded for having personal ties with the Sharif family.
The PTI had expressed its reservations in a letter to the Chief Election Commissioner and caretaker Chief Minister Punjab.
