RAWALPINDI (Sarzameen News): Another four hardcore terrorists belonging to Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were hanged on Wednesday at a prison in Rawalpindi after being tried by Military Courts.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the terrorists were involved in committing heinous offences relating to terrorism, including killing of innocent civilians, attacking Armed Forces of Pakistan and Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs).
The terrorists admitted their offences before the Magistrate. They were also in possession of fire-arms and explosives. Detail of each case is as under:
Convict Barkat Ali son of Abdul Ghafar was involved in killing of a civilian whereas Muhammad Adil son of Muhammad Akbar Jan was involved in kidnapping and slaughtering soldiers of Frontier Constabulary and destruction of Police Station.
Ishaq son of Abdul Hai was involved in attacking Armed Forces of Pakistan and Law Enforcement Agency which resulted in death of a Junior Commissioned Officer and injuries to a police constable.
Latif-ur-Rehman son of Saif-ur-Rehman was involved in kidnapping/ killing personnel of LEAs and attacking Armed Forces of Pakistan which resulted in death of soldiers.
The military courts were formed in the wake of terrorist attack on Peshawar’s Army Public School (APS) in December 2014 that claimed lives of more than 140 students.
Security has dramatically improved since then. The law expired in January with the tribunals having hanged 12 people and ordered the executions of 149 more. But in February a fresh wave of militant violence killed 130 people across the country. Shortly afterwards, parliament voted to extend the courts for another two years.
